Welcome to a quiet corner of timeless wisdom. The teachings of our Sanatan Dharma — preserved in the Vedas, Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita and the words of countless saints — are not bound to any era or person. They are a gift to humanity, meant to bring clarity, peace and right action into everyday life.
This page is a free, open offering from ChariDham Central to everyone who walks the spiritual path. Read, reflect, and share — for the true purpose of dharma is the upliftment of all.
“कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।”
You have the right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself the cause of the results, nor be attached to inaction.
— Bhagavad Gita 2.47
The Four Pillars of Dharma
Manusmriti describes dharma as resting on four eternal pillars. When society cultivates these qualities, peace and prosperity naturally follow.
Satya · Truth
Speaking and living the truth — in thought, word, and action.
Ahimsa · Non-Violence
Causing no harm to any living being through deed, word or thought.
Tapas · Self-Discipline
Inner austerity that purifies the mind and strengthens the will.
Daana · Selfless Giving
Sharing without expectation — the highest form of love and service.
Wisdom from the Shastras
A few timeless verses to reflect upon:
“वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्”
The whole world is one family. May we treat every being as our own.
Maha Upanishad 6.71
“सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः।
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चित् दुःखभाग् भवेत्॥”
May all beings be happy, may all be free from illness, may all see what is auspicious — let no one suffer.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.4.14
“अहिंसा परमो धर्मः, धर्म हिंसा तथैव च”
Non-violence is the highest dharma — and so is dharma in defense of righteousness.
Mahabharata, Anushasana Parva
“उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत्।”
Lift yourself by your own self; do not let your self be degraded. The self alone is the friend of the self, and the self alone is its enemy.
Bhagavad Gita 6.5

Adi Shankaracharya
“The world is fleeting like a drop of water on a lotus leaf. Realising this, devote your mind to the Supreme — that is the wisest use of human birth.”
Swami Vivekananda
